Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world , which is more than 1 meter a day, and this is a huge sustainable resource.

The handle is made of 100% biodegradable Mao bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. The subtropical moosoon climate are also beneficial to growth of bamboo in Zhejiang Province. The bamboo is heat treated to carbonize the surface of the bamboo, giving it a quality finish and good service life. The carbonization finishing process provides water resistance and prevents the growth of microbes (bacteria and moulds) during normal use.

The bamboo Toothbrush head is to be designed for the Sonicare range in Philips. We had so much success with creating one of the first Bamboo toothbrushes’- but so many existing customers wanted one for their electric toothbrush. This is where the idea was born from. It’s just another small step in eliminating throw away plastic which ends up in our lovely oceans.
